Bobby J's Yamaha is proud to say that we are the oldest Yamaha dealership in the United States, dating back to 1958 when Yamaha first came to America. We believe that quality products, good prices, and great service account for our success for the past 50 plus years.

Bobby J's Yamaha is and always has been a family-owned business. Founder Bob Johnson (Bobby J) raced flat track on Indian motorcycles in the early 1950's. Following in his footsteps were son, Stan, and nephew Vern Johnson. They spent their race days on Yamaha 750's racing flat track in New Mexico and around the country. They won many state championships, and made a name for themselves on the national circuit. They each won the New Mexico Governor's award for their athletic achievements.

Keith Johnson, son of Stan, spent his racing years in supercross, motocross, and arenacross. One of his racing highlights was winning the supercross Top Privateer award in 2003, finishing 9th overall in the 250 class. He eventually moved on to arenacross and captured several wins there. He is now officially retired from full time racing and is working full time at Bobby J's.  We refer to him as our "motocross expert."

Kevin Johnson, also son of Stan, has racing in his blood as well. He has been racing supercross, motocross, and the arenacross series. He has been with Team Faith (www.teamfaith.com) racing arenacross and doing freestyle for the past 5 years, winning many main events. He had the honor of winning Bronze at the Navy Moto-X Games in 2008, then going on to win Gold at the Summer X-Games that same year. He is currently racing in the Canadian outdoor nationals (www.cmrcracing.com) for the summer of 2009.

Isaiah Johnson, son of Vern, has had many supercross, motocross, and arenacross accomplishments as well. In 1999 he raced to a 3rd place podium finish in the 125 West Coast supercross, finishing 3rd in the series.

As you can tell, this family has a passion for motorcycles. We also have a staff that is passionate about motorcycles, as well as ATV's and watercraft. Their enthusiasm is contagious, but their knowledge is incredible.
